Part of the Scenoiserie collection, our Asian Blossom Plum-Almond Branches Mural depicts beautiful Japanese blossoms and branches of plum and almond trees. Rather than a conventional layout of a mural starting from the bottom going up, this design creatively cascades from the top down, imbuing the stylish tranquility of a Japanese orchard. The 5 panel mural is 8 feet tall with a total of 260 inches wide (nearly 22 feet) and the 7 panel mural is 10 feet tall with a total of 364 inches wide (nearly 31 feet). Each mural set includes 52 inch wide panels with one inch overlaps for a much easier installation than a butt-edge (side by side alignment) would be, which will save you tons of time!

Vincent van Gogh’s Almond Blossom painting was the inspiration for our Almond Blossoms in the center.

Vincent van Gogh painted his famous Almond Blossoms in 1890 in celebration of his nephew’s birth and to symbolize awakening and hope.

We keep the similar layout and impressionistic features but display our Almond Blossoms descending downward to simulate an artistic canopy stemming from the ceiling down the wall. We also present the colors in a more solid way with hand-drawn, digital graphics that give a more contemporary feel.

Our Sea Spray mural is its own artwork as well as the abstract background used in our Shells Design for the Sea Life Series. The Sea Spray mural, Shells and Shell Fish designs in this series can be used separately or together to enrich an entire room with a Sea Life theme.

Our Sea Spray mural design was created using the ancient method of “paper marbling,” which transfers paint from the surface of a water bath onto paper. Ebru Art (via Turkey) or Suminagashi (floating art from Japan) are similar techniques that use this method.

Our Shells design has a “shell-life” beyond just beach collection. We take a scientific approach with this design as the visual taxonomy of shells. Our Shells are artistic renderings of real seashells that represent the largest group of the Mollusca Phylum  that we’ve collected. The shells are configured in a purposeful pattern to depict popular and common species of gastropods and bivalves, which are two of the seven classes of mollusks that produce the different types of shells in our design.

Our Shells are situated against a Sea Spray background with two different types of coral that represent two different branches of Gastropoda and Bivalvia classes of species. Each shell is representative of a separate branch or Order within the species’ family.

Going back to our days of basic biology, here’s a quick breakdown of how scientific classification works:  Kingdom ->Phylum ->Class ->Order ->Family ->Genus ->Species

Here’s a fun phrase to help remember this classification and coincidentally it can be related to our Shells, “Kings Play Chess On Fine Grain Sand,” as do our Shells. Picture Mollusks are the kings of this Phylum playing chess with their seashell treasures on the fine grain sand in the ocean. Mollusks are the second largest Genus of living organisms in the animal kingdom represented by more than 100,000 species.

• Phylum = Mollusca
• Classes = Our focus is on
  • GASTROPODA (single shelled  cowries, cones, etc.) &
  • BIVALVIA (two shelled like clams, mussels, etc.)

The major groups of marine snails (Gastropods) are the largest group of our Shells that are clustered on the right over the thin-branch red coral. The shells depicted here are the following but not necessarily in order as stated below. Families are grouped together for the most part but see if you can identify these individual shells:

Our Casart Wave murals were created using real “paint pours,” where paint is actually released/ poured onto a blank canvas and allowed to move freely over the surface when the canvas is tilted and moved in many directions. There is some artistic manipulation but this process is basically a semi-controlled-mess that gives surprising and appealing results. We have two versions that can work individually or together. There is no one top or bottom or left or right for installation. They can be turned in any direction that you would like that is most pleasing to you. We’ve shown a few examples below. Each self-adhesive, removable wallcovering panel is 52 inches wide, so covers a lot of wall space with just one.
